THEME: MANAGING ORGANIZATIONS IN A TURBULENT ENVIRONMENT FOR ECONOMIC RECOVERY
Organizations exist and operate in environments that are volatile and highly competitive. The current economic downturn is creating tough time for managers in managing their organizations and this has created unprecedented challenges for public and private organizations.
Many organizations are now faced with problems of consistent decrease in profits, uncertainty, high risk factors, sub-optimum production capacity production, organizational restructuring, high labour turnover among others. These problems are now cumulating into insecurity, organizational crises, mass unemployment and poverty. Less attention has been placed on to the use of management/organisational strategies to solve most of the problems.
This conference will explore and provide various methods of managing organizations from different management perspectives in order to improve organizational development though appreciable research and development efforts have been exerted at upturning the complex economic web which seem to have engulfed the industries, this conference is another forum to cross examine ideas on best fit strategies in resolving the economic cum industrial cogwheel. We hope to stimulate and promote researches on major tropical management issues that each of them could be used for improved organizational performance most especially in low and middle income countries.
In addition to the regular sessions in major fields of management, the conference will also explore major areas in the Management Sciences especially in understanding of the subject matters and to proffer solutions to the multifarious problems confronting organisations and nations.
We welcome contributions from all allied disciplines including Accounting, Banking and Finance, Business Administration, Production and Operations Management, Human Resource Management and Industrial Relations, Marketing, Insurance, Risk Management and Pension, Public Administration, Management Technology and other related areas.
