“I MUST CONTINOUSLY ACT RIGHT IN THE INTEREST OF LASU”

Reflecting on the lessons he learnt as curtain drew on the 20th Convocation Ceremonies Command Performance Dance Drama “ENI AYAN” [The Chosen], at the University Auditorium, Main Campus, Ojo, Lagos, the Vice Chancellor, Lagos State University, Professor, ‘Lanre Fagbohun, in his remarks at the end of the breathtaking performance of the cast from the Department of Theatre Arts & Music, Lagos State University, remarked that …“ I must continuously act right in the best interest of our great institution, Lagos State University”.
The Vice Chancellor, while applauding the performance of the cast, made reference to himself, saying that the play has connection to his vision. He added that there must be a bond by all in doing what is right. He equally implored all members of staff and students to be careful not to violate the University system.
“The lesson for me I must act right”, he enthused. He thanked the writer, the cast, the Head of Department and the audience who thronged the Auditorium to see the play. Professor Fagbohun said the University could generate revenue through the Department of Theatre Arts and Music by commercializing the Department.
The Head of Department, Theatre Arts and Music, Dr. Adebola Ademeso in his appreciation, thanked the Vice Chancellor, for creating the enabling environment for the cast to “do their thing”. He promised that the best was yet to come from the Department. He ended by saying that it was the first time Dance Drama, would be staged as Convocation Play in any Nigerian University.
The cast lived up to expectation as the audience was held spell bound till the end of the Command Performance. Intermittent cheers and applause from the crowd greeted the play to the end, at the capacity filled Auditorium.
