In accordance with Schedule I, Section 4(1) of the Lagos State University Law, 2004, the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Administration) assists the Vice-Chancellor in the performance of his administrative functions and performs such other functions as the Vice-Chancellor or the Council shall from time to time, assign to him/her.
Professor Oluwatoyin Ayokunle Enikuomehin is a distinguished academic, researcher, and technology leader with deep expertise in Artificial Intelligence, Digital Transformation, and ICT Policy Development. He joined the services of Lagos State University in 2006 as an Assistant Lecturer in the Department of Computer Science, Faculty of Science, and has risen through the ranks to become a Professor of Computer Science. He currently serves as the Director of the Directorate of Information and Communication Technology (DICT) at the Lagos State University.A proud Prince from the Enikuomehin Royal Family of Okitipupa in Okitipupa Local Government Area of Ondo State. Professor Enikuomehin combines academic distinction with visionary leadership and a lifelong passion for digital innovation.He obtained his B.Sc. in Mathematics (Computer Science Option) in 2001, M.Sc. in Mathematics with Computer Science in 2005, and Ph.D in Computer Science in 2012, all from the University of Ilorin. His academic exposure includes advanced research at the University of Lorraine (formerly Nancy 2 University), France, in 2012, where he specialised in Intelligent Systems and Computational Analysis.Professor Enikuomehin’s academic and professional journey has taken him to several renowned institutions across the world, equipping him with diverse perspectives for global impact. These include the University of Houston, Texas (USA), City University of London (UK), and the University of Rwanda. He has also served as a Visiting Professor at Southern University, Baton Rouge, Louisiana, USA, where he contributed to cross-continental research collaborations in Artificial Intelligence and ICT for Education.Since joining Lagos State University, Professor Enikuomehin has made significant contributions to the University’s growth through his work in teaching, postgraduate supervision, digital innovation, and institutional reform. His research focuses on the application of Artificial Intelligence, data analytics, and web services integration to drive smart governance, cybersecurity, and automated decision systems. He has developed several AI-based models for optimisation and adaptive reasoning, demonstrating his commitment to bridging theoretical research with practical applications in governance and education.A respected university administrator and policy strategist, he has served as Chairman and Member of numerous strategic committees, including those on ICT Policy Development, Digitalisation of University Operations, Results Processing, and Digital Transformation. His leadership philosophy is participatory, evidence-based, and data-driven, promoting efficiency, transparency, and institutional resilience.Professor Enikuomehin is a Member of the Governing Council of Lagos State University and a Member of the Court of Governors of the Lagos State University College of Medicine (LASUCOM), where he contributes to high-level policy formulation, academic reforms, and governance strengthening.Beyond the University, he serves as a Resource Expert to the National Universities Commission (NUC) on Artificial Intelligence Curriculum Design, supporting the development of academic programmes that prepare Nigerian students for the digital economy. He is also a Visiting ICT Consultant to the University of Sierra Leone and has provided expert advisory services to several educational institutions and public-sector organisations on AI policy, digital transformation, and institutional innovation.With over ninety scholarly publications in reputable local and international journals, Professor Enikuomehin is widely recognised as a thought leader in AI for Governance, Digital Inclusion, and ICT-Driven Institutional Transformation. His scholarship and leadership continue to inspire a generation of researchers and digital innovators within and beyond the Nigerian university system.His vision is to build a digitally intelligent governance ecosystem, where Artificial Intelligence and ethical innovation drive efficient, transparent, and inclusive service delivery, positioning Lagos State and Nigeria as models of AI-enabled smart governance in Africa. Professor Enikuomehin is happily married and blessed with children.
Professor Enikuomehin assumed the office of the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Administration) of the Lagos State University on October 12, 2025, succeeding Prof. (Mrs) Adenike Omotunde Boyo, whose tenure ended on October 11, 2025.
